Meet Our Team!
Dana Ball | Director
Dana is a Charleston native and has been a bodyworker since 2008. She has taught and run several entry-level programs and wanted to bring the best to the massage classroom. In order to do that, she decided to open a massage school. Carolina School of Bodywork is a Bodyworker owned Massage School and will employ talented and evidence-informed instructors that are passionate about their craft. Dana wants to help as many people as possible live better, pain-free lives. She currently serves as a professional member for the Internal Review Committee for the Massage/Bodywork Board for South Carolina Labor, Licensing and Regulation reviewing complaints against massage therapists. She has also served on the Educational Task Force for the Massage Board since 2021. She is a proud member of the Associated Bodywork/Massage Professionals since 2008.
Casey Childs
After years of working as a Medical Assistant and Physical Therapy Tech, Casey attended massage school and became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in Spring of 2017. She has advanced training in a variety of modalities ranging from Thai Yoga Therapy to Trauma Informed Bodywork. Casey primarily works with clients who have chronic pain, chronic conditions and/or want to improve or optimize movement. She began teaching Anatomy & Physiology in the Summer of 2019.
Immediately, she fell in love with teaching others what she is most passionate about. Casey continues to further her knowledge daily, even reading the latest research for fun. Her goal is to make learning about the human body fun and comprehensible to everyone and to increase accessibility of preventative healthcare.
Dr. Stephen Redmon
Stephen began his bodywork career after a serious motor vehicle accident left his lower back permanently injured in 2011. Once gaining back some sort of normalcy to in his life, he wanted to help others in similar or even worse conditions and began looking into ways to do just that. In 2014, he graduated from Trident Technical College with a certificate in massage therapy and then went on complete degrees in exercise science from College of Charleston and chiropractic at Life University. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with each student to further help those suffering from chronic pain and disability. Outside of the classroom Stephen can be found treating patients in his office downtown, doing peer review work for the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, and nerding out on all things conservative care for neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Mina Familar-Ragsdale
Mina had always loved helping others. When a medical condition sidelined her in 2017, massage was an integral part of her healing process. Massage has enabled her to take control of her own healing, and she now considers it to be a necessity of life. Massage therapy is not only her career, it is her calling. Mina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Meredith College, and has been licensed in SC to perform massage since 2019. She is a Reiki Master, and is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Mina is teaching Massage Theory and Practice Management at CSB. When she isn’t in the classroom, she is providing hands-on work in her practice Seva Mind Body Soul.
