Why CSB?

We’re not a cookie-cutter massage school. We’re a local, independent community led by professionals who still practice what they teach. Here, you’ll get personalized attention, real-world preparation, and a team that’s genuinely invested in your success. You’re not just a student—you’re a future colleague, and we’re here to help you thrive.

Let’s do this.

Testimonials

  • “I would highly recommend all that are thinking about or wanting to become a Massage Therapist attend this school in Charleston! The instructors you’ll find here are your “real life” people who want the absolute best for you and this career path.”

    Brandon C., LMT
    Former Student

  • Carolina School of Bodywork’s graduates are prepared for the workforce in a way that sets them apart from graduates of other curriculums. They have a deep understanding of bodywork techniques, and they are able to apply this knowledge in a safe and effective manner.

    -Tammy G.
    Spa Manager
    Hand & Stone Spa Summerville

  • “Under their tutelage you’ll learn techniques and information that will not only equip you to pass your MBLEx on the first try but will aid the development of a healthy clientele that’ll be shocked you haven’t been in practice for years.”

    - PJ Martin, LMT
    Former Student

  • "Dana Ball’s instructing is top notch. Not only is there a lot of hands on instruction but the science and ethics behind touch are invaluable. She has brought an evidence-based education to manual therapy that brings back the respect due to massage therapists since Hollywood’s misconstrued depiction of the profession 30yrs ago. Dana challenges each student to think critically about each client’s needs and to practice open communication with their clients to maintain a professional and safe environment. Highly recommend Carolina Bodywork School."

    - Bethany, Former Student

  • “I love [massage] because it feeds me. It’s like I found that massage is fuel to my soul. Thank you for what you built that gave me the opportunity to change my life and be happy again. I’m truly thankful.”

    Nate B., LMT
    Former Student

  • “I had my first at-home client yesterday… with stage IV pancreatic cancer. After that session and seeing how relaxed I made them, and the small comfort I could give, it hit me. This is why I’m a massage therapist.”

    Chandler K., LMT
    Former Student

  • “I think the instructors were great and [enjoyed] how the class size was small. I found that to be important when learning a skill that is hands on. I also liked that the instructors were practical about the night class and that we did have full time jobs so they were understanding of our energy levels and time.“

    - CSB 2025 Graduate

  • “My coworkers who graduated a year ago from the school here said they weren’t taught half the stuff we were. I was educating them. You guys taught us so much!”

    -Heather D., CSB Graduate

  • “I was very blessed. At the time I was in school, all of my instructors were amazing and I had a chance to spend time with each one of them every week. I loved that part. Seeing a different [Instructor] each day actually made it easier for me. Thank you for the experiences that I had and the instruction you provided me to be able to pass the MBLEx first time. I’m loving my new career & it’s all because of Carolina School of Bodywork 💜”

    -CSB Graduate, 2024

  • “Dana- for being so available, accommodating, supportive, and funny! Casey- for her bubbly personality, sense of humor, and answering literally any question that came to my mind!
Mina- for being so kind, gentle, and nurturing. Such a great presence to have when doing something new and scary! Adam- for keeping it real. He answered honestly and openly. It was very reassuring and refreshing!”

    - CSB Graduate, 2026

  • “I appreciate all of the instructors, but definitely special shoutout to Adam and Brandon for showing me a lot of different techniques and offering encouragement.”
